About
Cocktail Atlas is a cultural encyclopedia of classic cocktails, with original texts. Disputed origins are presented as versions or legends, and statements about where a drink is most consumed are impressions unless a source is cited.
The plates are low-poly, cartoon 3D models generated by code.
How to read the stories
Each story has a label: "Documented" if it appears in the cited source, "One version" if it is one of several explanations, and "Legend" if it is a tale without firm evidence.
The recipes
Amounts are approximate and written for this site: every bar and book has its own.
Responsible drinking
This site is intended for adults and is informative. Alcohol carries health risks: if you drink, do so in moderation, never before driving, and within the legal age of your country. No recipe is an invitation to drink.
